BA3 Group

Zoe Zhang
Zoe is a 9th grader at Century High School. She coached one of the RMC fourth grade Math Masters teams this past year, and has competed in Mathcounts. Zoe has played varsity tennis for Century High School since her 7th grade year. She's also super passionate about biology - participating in science fairs and research. Her hobbies include drawing/painting in her free time, and writing

Elizabeth Zhu
Elizabeth is a 10th grader at Century High School. She has competed in several math competitions including Math Masters, Mathcounts, Math League, AMC, AIME, and ARML. She coached the 4th grade RMC Math Masters team earlier this year. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, playing piano, watching movies, and listening to music.

Jasmine Yu
Jasmine is a 10th grader at Century High School. She has participated in several math competitions and was a previous student at RMC for multiple years. She also coached a 5th grade RMC Math Master team. Other than that, Jasmine likes running, playing tennis, making food, and watching rom-coms.

Mandy Yu
Mandy is a 10th grader at Century High School. She has competed in various math competitions such as AMC8/10 and Mathcounts. She also coached the RMC 5th grade Math Masters team. Outside of school, she plays competitive table tennis and is world ranked top 25 for her age. She is on the junior national team, representing Team USA in many international competitions. She also enjoys playing piano and violin.

Nara Feng
Nara is a 9th grader at the Illinois Math and Sciences Academy. She has participated in math competitions such as AMC, Mathcounts, ICTM, IML, and NSML, and got top 1% in AMC8 in 8th grade. She participates in clubs such as math team, scholastic bowl, and environmental club, and sciences bowl. She also plays varsity badminton. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano, reading, touching grass, bothering her cat, and folding origami.

Nicole Yang
Nicole is a junior at Century High School and takes double accelerated math. She participated in MathCounts while in middle school and currently is on her school’s robotics team, plays tennis, volunteers at her local hospital, and helps lead a nonprofit. Outside of school, she enjoys playing piano, tasting new foods, experimenting in the kitchen, enthusing over impressionist painters, and playing video games.

Alexander Voskoboev
Alex is a 10th grader at Century High School. He taught the BA4 classes during the 2022-2023 academic year and coached the RMC's Euclid team, which ranked #5 in the state for the 2022 Math Masters. Alex has been a member of the RMC since 2017 and has partipated in the various math competitions, including Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, AMC, and VF Cup International. He is also a current member of the Rochester Figure Skating Club and takes part in skating competitions and RFSC's annual ice shows. During his leisure time, Alex enjoys playing Minecraft, collecting toy cars, and chatting with friends on Discord.

Alex Luo
Alex is a 10th grader at the Quarry Lane School. He coached the RMC's Pythagoras team for Math Masters and taught the RMC BA4 class in the 2023-2024 school year. Alex has been with RMC for 7 years and also competed in math competitions including: Mathmasters, Mathcounts, AMC, and MOEMS. Alex has been competing competitively in table tennis for over a decade and competes in regional and national competitions frequently. In his free time, Alex likes to hangout with friends and play video games.

William Yan
William is a 11th grader at Century High School who has participated in a few math competitions including Math Masters, Math Counts, Math League, Purple Comet, AMC, and Math Kangaroo. He recently coached a RMC 6th-grade Math Masters team and also is a part of clubs such as Math League and Science Olympiad. He enjoys tennis, playing violin solo and in an orchestra, biking and petting his cat, and playing video games.

Yuchen Shi
Yuchen is a 11th grader at Breck School. He has participated in competitions like Math Counts and two different Math Leagues. He is part of the school's Math League club and Chess Club and is a violinist in the local youth orchestra. In his free time, he loves to play the piano, violin, and basketball. He also collects quarters for fun.

Ana Milosevic
Ana is a 11th grader at Century High School. She has participated in math competitions, including MOEMS, AMC, and Purple Comet, and has previously been a student at RMC for four years. Last year she coached the 2022 Math Masters RMC 6th grade team Fermat and ranked #1 in the state. Ana swims for the Rochester Swim Club and is on the Century High School swim team. She was also involved in the high school Debate and Speech team this year. In her free time, Ana enjoys playing piano, violin, and tennis with her friends. She also likes to learn new languages and especially loves traveling.

Julia is an 10th grader at Century High School. She has been in RMC for many years and has coached both RMC classes and Math Masters team. In her free time, she loves to play piano and ski, and is currently trying to learn guitar.

Counting & Probability Group

Arden Peng
Arden is a 10th grader at Century High school. He started participating in math competitions when he was in kindergarten with Math Kangaroo. He also participated in MOEMS, AMC, MathCounts and MN High School Math League. Arden has been a math club member since 2017. He has also coached the RMC 5th grade Math Masters team Pythagoras, getting 4th ranked in the state in the 2022 spring semester. In his free time, he likes playing video games and reading. He is also a member of FRC team 2530.

Eric Ding
Eric is a 9th grader at Century High school. He has participated in many math competitions, like the AMC series, ARML, Mathcounts, Mathmasters, Math Kangaroo, and MNHSML. He has also qualified for Mathounts National (3 times) and National Countdown round (ranked $5 in the nation in 2024), AIME (twice), USAJMO, MN Math Bowl (twice, ranked #3 overall in MNHSML in 2024), and ARML Tiebreaker (ranked #22 in the nation in 2024). He enjoys speedcubing and coding.

Ben Weingarten
Ben is a 12th grader at Mayo High School. He is taking calculus. He has worked with RMC this past year and is looking forward to the winter classes. He enjoys reading, playing guitar, and swimming.

Jason Ding
Jason is an 12th grader at Mayo High School, and has participated in numerous math competitions over the course of a few years, such as the AMC series and Mathcounts. He has captained Mayo High School's Science Olympiad team to 3rd in Minnesota, and is currently a captain for Mayo High School's Math League team as well. Outside of academics, Jason is the lead piano player in the pit orchestra for Mayo's fall musicals and enjoys producing electronic music, modding Minecraft, and practicing digital art.

Alumnus coaches

Golden Peng
Golden Peng is a freshman at University of California Berkeley. He has been involved in many mathematics competitions, such as MathCounts, MN HS Math League, AMC, AIME, HMMT, and ARML. He represented Minnesota during the 2018 MathCounts Competition, and has been a member of the MN All-State Math Team since 2018. He is the MN state assistant coach for the 2022 MathCounts National Competition. He has been a coach for the Rochester Math Club since 8th grade. He has taught a summer chess course, and has also coached the Kellogg MathCounts since 2021. In his free time, Golden likes to pursue discord, play chess, and planespot.

Ethan Zhang
Ethan is a freshman at Northwestern University. He is currently involved in various school clubs, juggling his time between BPA, Mock Trial, debate, and Science Olympiad. He is also currently the captain of the Century Chess team. He has been coaching RMC for 2 years, and in his free time he enjoys watching movies, hiking, and reading a good book.

Felix Lu
Felix is a freshman at Penn State University. He has participated in math competitions such as MathCounts AMC and AIME. Outside of math he also does Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, math league, varsity swimming, debate where he is a captain and honor society where he is treasurer. He does research at Mayo Clinic and recently presented his work at the annual American Association for Physicists in Medicine Conference. He has been a Math Club coach for 4 years and has taught summer BA classes through RMC for 3 years. Outside of academics, Felix plays piano, violin, and table tennis. Fun facts: He loves Taylor Swift!!!

Andrew Sun
Andrew is a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University. He has been actively engaged in math competitions since elementary school years, including participation in Math Masters, Math Counts, Math League, AMC8, 10, 12, and AIME(x3). Andrew started coaching at RMC since 2021. He also serves as a TA for online AMC8 and AMC10 classes. Andrew enjoys coding and is currently a USACO Gold Division participant. He got a silver medal in the American Computer Science League Intermediate Division Competition in 2023. He was a TA for the Introduction to Python and the Machine Learning courses during the Art of Science summer camp this year. Outside of academics, Andrew is an avid fan of D&D and serves as the dungeon master for weekly D&D sessions with his friends.

Albert Hu
Albert is a freshman at Emory University, and has 9 years of experience in math competitions, including Math Masters, Mathcounts, MN HS Math League, Purple Comet, and AMC8/10. He has been a coach for RMC since 2021. He has taught the 2021 Math Masters RMC 5th grade team Euclid, which ranked #1 in the state. Albert also plays piano and is on the varsity swim/dive team. In his free time, he enjoys reading and listening to podcasts.

Katherine Zhu
Katherine is a sophomore at Yale University. She has been a member of the Minnesota All-State Math Team since 8th grade and has participated in various math competitions, including MathCounts, Math League, AMC, AIME, ARML, and HMMT. Outside of math, she studies physics, interns at a biomedical engineering lab, and does ballet. Her favorite ballets are Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and La Bayadere.

Christine Song
Christine is a sophomore at Harvard University. She has participated in various math competitions such as AMC, AIME, and the MN HS Math League. Christine is also a part of the school’s Science Olympiad, Debate, and Key Club. Outside of school, she actively participates in Science Fair of which she was able to receive the Seagate Rising High School student award, Regeneron Biomedical Award, and Gold Award this year (2021). She is also a 2x ISEF finalist. In her free time, she enjoys playing her oboe or watching Korean shows.

Damian is a junior at Duke University. He has participated in various math competitions over the years including MathCounts, AMC, and AIME. He has been a Rochester Math Club coach for four years. Damian has been participating in Science Olympiad events since middle school, particularly in the physical sciences. Sometimes outside of school he plays violin and plays video games.

Zoey Chen
Zoey Chen is junior at Duke University, where she currently plans to double major in Computer Science and International Comparative Studies. At Century High School, she served as co-captain for the debate team and the girls tennis team. In her community, she was involved in various educational initiatives, serving as secretary and coach for Rochester Math Club, operations manager for Living Room Tutors, and a coding teacher at a local elementary school Some may know her for her love of art and painting, as she's taught many acrylic paining classes online throughout the pandemic.

Andrew Yan
Andrew is a junior at the University of Minnesota and was a captain of the Century Science Olympiad and Science Bowl teams. He has coached for RMC for five years, and has also taught an introductory chemistry course for the RMC's summer program. He has also formerly participated in Math League and MathCounts. In his free time, he enjoys reading and asking a lot of questions.

Michael Huang
Michael is a junior at the University of Minnesota, and was a captain of the Century Math League Team. He has participated in numerous math competitions, such as AMC, AIME, MathCounts, and ARML. He as volunteered as an RMC math coach since 9th grade. Michael has also participated extensively in Science Olympiad and Science Bowl activities, in both middle and high schools. Outside of mathematics and science, he also enjoys playing video games and investing in random programming projects for fun. He especially enjoys breaking programs and website by writing bots.

Maggie Hu
Maggie is a junior at Carleton College. She was a member of the Century Math League team and has particpated in multiple math competitions such as MathCounts, AMC, and ARML. She teaches math through the Rochester Math Club and as a TA in an AMC8 online class. Maggie is also interested in computational oncology and interns at a bioinformatics lab. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exploring her backyard, and eating pomelo.

Hans Xu
Hans is an junior at Brown University, where he plans to study economics. He recently graduated from Century High School, where he participated in BPA, and served as captain for both Sciences Olympiad and the National Economics Challenge. He has been a coach at RMC since 8th grade, and formerly competed in Math Masters, MathCounts, and Math League Hans was a part of the Rochester Public Schools Economic Engine Working Group as an advisor to the school district. In his free time, he's either playing cards, especially tractor, browsing edutainment videos on YouTube, playing chess, or going on a long walk.

Stephen Wu
Stephen is a senior at New York University, serving as president of its STEM Society, a large organization dedicated to providing K-12 students with science and technology opportunities, and captain of its title-winning math league team. He was worked on numerous award-winning projects in the fields of computer science, machine learning, and natural language processing, alongside doing research at Mayo Clinic In the field of cancer immunology.

William Wang
 
Will Wang is a sophomore at Harvard University. He has been actively involved in numerous academic competitions, such as MathCounts, Science Bowl, AMC, and ARML. He is a 2-time National MathCounts participant, as well the written champion for Idaho in 2018 and 2019. Will was also the math, biology, and earth science specialist of the TVMSC Science Bowl team, which placed 9th at the National Science Bowl in 2019. He has taught classes on competition math locally, as well as being a solutions writer for a course online. He is  also the principal oboist for the Idaho All-State Orchestra. During the pandemic, Will enjoys lazing around and playing soccer and table tennis, as well as tickling the ivories. His favorite composers are Satie and Rachmaninoff.

Ben Yan
Benjamin recently graduated from Stanford University. At Mayo, he conducted and published research in high-tech medical imaging and computer vision technology. He is a U.S Presidential Scholar, one of the nation’s rarest and prestigious honors for students, a two-time International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) finalist, and a state high school math champion. With over four years of teaching experience, he has orchestrated several classes in programming, AMC 8/10, and MATHCOUNTS, where he coached a team to 4th place at State. In his free time, Ben delights in watching his hometown Minnesota Vikings, listening to Taylor Swift and Coldplay albums, going on bike rides, and playing soccer and tennis games.

Alex Zhu
Alex Zhu recently graduated from Carleton College, majored in mathematics. He has extensive experience with math competitions and teaching. He is one of the main coaches for the Minnesota All-State Math Team and has taught classes at Northfield High School. He is also involved with many math organizations, such as the Minnesota State High School Math League and the Mathematical Association of America.
